How to Use Your Hydroponic Sprout Grower

For Mung Beans:

  1. Add 3–4 tablespoons of mung beans to the stainless steel screen.
  2. No soaking needed! Just rinse the beans under cold running water.
  3. Spread them evenly over the screen and remove any broken or damaged seeds.
  4. Fill the plastic base with just enough water but NOT touch the bottom of the beans.
    • You may need to gently press down the center of the screen so it sits flat.
  5. Do not submerge the beans—they should rest above the water, not in it.
  6. Place the dome lid loosely over the top.
    • Do not snap it down tightly—sprouts need airflow.

 

For Smaller Seeds (like radish or broccoli):

  • Pre-soak overnight to allow them to swell before spreading on the screen.
  • Then follow the same steps as above.

With just a little water, warmth, and time, your sprouts will be ready to enjoy—fresh, crunchy, and full of life!

 

Sprouting Times:

  • Mung beans: Ready in 24–36 hours (depending on temperature). Best when roots are about ¼” long, sweet and crisp like garden peas.
  • Chickpeas: Ready in about 3 days. Remove when the skins start to loosen—this means they’re fully hydrated and won’t drain properly if left longer.
  • Lentils: Ready in 203 days

 

🌿 Microgreens Tip:

For seeds like daikon radish or green peas, follow the same process—but allow more time for greens to grow.

 

Care & Maintenance

Your Sprout Haus is made from food-grade plastic and features a durable stainless steel sieve. With proper care, it will last for many years.

  • Clean after each use with warm soapy water.
  • Use a dish brush to gently remove any roots from the sieve.
  • Do not put the plastic dome or tray in the dishwasher—they are heat-sensitive and can warp.
  • If you notice a mineral build-up in the base, it can be easily removed with a non-abrasive scrub pad or soft sponge.
  • Avoid placing plastic parts near heat sources or in direct sunlight, as this may damage the material.
